His two swords--

Hrunting- able to sense blood and the presence of Grendel (and potentially other demons) and can make a nasty cut out using even the most ordinary swing. It's also capable of changing color through the absorption of blood into the blade.

Naegling (currently broken in game)- by contrast is designed as less of a cutting tool and more for bludgeoning and to slowly break down. Once it's completely broken it's hinted that it can cause a large amount of damage.

Basically they reflect the two swords that he uses in his legend. Hrunting being the one he uses when tracking down Grendel's body and his mother. And Naegling having broken apart when facing the dragon.
